• Ethical and responsible AI in KM – Currently taking a leading role in promoting the need for ethical and responsible AI in KM, and publishing comprehensive resources to facilitate this.
• A new generation of KM4SD – Lead author of the 2023 paper “’We have a dream’: proposing decolonization of knowledge as a sixth generation of knowledge management for sustainable development” which was launched in a landmark event at the Dr Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Library in Washington DC. This proposal has since been adopted by United Nations (UN) agency IFAD (International Fund for Agricultural Development).
• UN Pact for the Future – Leader of the 2024 KM & Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) campaign on behalf of three global knowledge management organisations, which has informed “Action 32. We will protect, build on and complement Indigenous, traditional and local knowledge” in the UN Pact for the Future.
• First Nations – Worked with and carried out advocacy in support of the Yuggera elders.
• Forum leader – Lead organiser of the 2025 KM Triversary Forum, a global online event which had the theme “bridging the research-practice gap in knowledge management (KM)” and attracted more than 130 participants.
• Judge – A member of the International Review Panel for the Global Most Innovative Knowledge Enterprise (MIKE) Award in 2025 and 2024.
• Journal editor – An editor of the Knowledge Management for Development Journal.
• Teaching – Initiated, developed, and taught two new KM subjects at Shanxi University.
• Knowledge strategy – Led the development and implementation of a knowledge management strategy process with resources and training for the 56 regional natural resource management (NRM) organisations throughout Australia, as part of the award-winning Land & Water Australia Knowledge for Regional NRM Program.
• Multiple knowledges in complexity – Led numerous environmental and natural resource management (NRM) programs and projects that engaged multiple knowledges in the face of complex problems. Examples include Sustainable Management of the Helidon Hills project, award-winning Holistic Natural Resource Management of Crow’s Nest Shire (‘Project Green Nest’), award-winning Hawkesbury-Nepean River Recovery Program, Biodiversity Recovery Plan for Gatton and Laidley Shires, and Upper Ma Ma Creek Rainforest Restoration Project.
