New report: Melbourne Beyond 5 Million Volume Two – Density and Localised Economies

Aug 2010
24

Produced by the Committee for Melbourne, the Melbourne Beyond 5 Million reports argue that growth is inevitable and that the challenge, therefore, is to ensure that there is better planning for this growth.

Volume One of the series explored the importance of appropriate governance and effective decision making in making Melbourne the very best it can be in future. The report also broadly articulated a long-term proposition or vision for how Melbourne could best benefit from addressing issues of physical shape, population, development, growth and regional relations.

The new Volume Two takes a closer look at the pressing issue of density and discusses the value of both creating new localised economies and reinforcing those that already exist.
